caravans in the most curious of places

after each workshop places that we had never noticed before,
started to leap out at us. it was often the spaces we never payed attention to
that stood out the most.

finding a place to call home

once the caravans were dry and decorated
each creator had to now comb the city
streets to find a place to call home.
there were many things to take into consideration
1. to find some where safe, where you wouldnt get stepped on
2. to stay dry and out of the wind
3. to be somewhere familiar ie outside your dads workplace.....
4. to be close to shops or a laundromat or even a rubbish bin!

this was exciting, it created endless conversations
about the endless spaces that could be filled with our new wee homes..
here are some of the spots we found.

keep watching as there are more caravans yet to appear.....

the decorating begins

as we wait for the walls to dry
the children start thinking about the
exteriors of their caravans.
wheels are cut and shaped with sandpaper,
windows are drempt up
and found paper is cut and shaped to size

putting the walls on our skeleton

after soaking the balsa wood in water I slowly bent
the wood over a hot soldering iron. these with the
aid of glue where adhered to the already dry and sturdy
structure. our caravans were taking shape
